Humans developed words to share their deeds, needs, thoughts, feelings, and intentions with one another. Miss-used words can result in laughter, confusion, even armed conflict.
Every generation has developed its own slang language; words and phrases used within groups of like people to express deeds and feelings in their own unique way. Slang frequently misuses common words to convey a different meaning.
There are those among us who intentionally and repeatedly misuse words and phrases. They are the Word Changers, and they believe they can control U.S. policy and people’s minds, by changing the meaning of common words and phrases. Whenever they fail to change an expression’s meaning, they try to render the expression meaningless.
The Word Changers have redefined the statement “Words have consequences” to mean “don’t say anything that will hurt someone’s feelings”. They are slowly removing logic and reason from social and political conversations and replacing it with discussions about feelings. The goal is to train people to make decisions based on emotion rather than reason. After all, it is much easier to control people’s emotions than it is to control their minds.
Words have meanings and words have consequences. It’s time to prevent the Wacky Word Changers from hijacking our language. If we don’t, future conversations will be meaningless.
