Today’s Congress is a two-team league of full-time, self-serving, want-to-be rulers, who expect payment, status, and praise for criticizing one another.
Now ask yourself. Is that a bad thing? Let’s break it down.
- “Want-to-be ruler” – a fundamental trait found in every great leader
- “Self-serving” – not a likable trait but a core value in high achievers
- “Full-time” – a form of commitment
- “Expect payment, status, and praise” – Rewards we all want for working
- “Criticizing one another” – constructive criticism is helpful
- “Two-team league” – a formula for failure
I can tolerate pompous politicians and some of their greedy antics, but I cannot stomach all the time they spend playing “gotcha”, when they could be working together to make life better for every American citizen.
