The “Us against Them” party is an exclusive club with dreams of political domination forever. They once viewed policies as being good or bad for all American citizens. Today they will reject what is good for Americans in favor of what is good for themselves. They want power so badly that they have welcomed America’s closest enemy (the Democratic Socialists of America) to join them. Perhaps they should have asked three simple questions before making that decision.
“Does the DSA want to replace the US constitution with its own?”
Yes, The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) proposes to draft a new constitution to create a “democratic socialist republic,” which would involve significant changes to the current structure of the U.S. government. This includes plans to abolish the Senate and replace the presidency and Supreme Court with leaders chosen by a socialist Congress. (i.e. no more checks and balances on the government’s power).
“What is the DSA’s purpose?” Article II. Purpose (from the DSA constitution)“We are socialists because we reject an economic order based on private profit, alienated labor, gross inequalities of wealth and power, discrimination based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, age, religion, and national origin, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo. We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production, economic planning, equitable distribution, feminism, racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships. We are socialists because we are developing a concrete strategy for achieving that vision, for building a majority movement that will make democratic socialism a reality in America. We believe that such a strategy must acknowledge the class structure of American society and that this class structure means that there is a basic conflict of interest between those sectors with enormous economic power and the vast majority of the population.”
What is the DSA Plan? “The 2025-2026 DSA program defeating the far right, protecting the rights of the working-class from the U.S. to Palestine and fighting for democracy are our top priorities. Through our grassroots struggles, we will build a movement with the power to take on our grassroots class and build an equal, democratic, and liberated world.”
When asked, “why join with the DSA?” Party officials reply, “We are a big tent and there are not enough seats up for grabs to significantly change our party”.
The truth is that those few seats can change the congressional makeup from a Democratic party minority to a Democratic party majority. Many Democrats want those seats at any cost while others feign distaste. The few who object, know how stupid it is to give political power to people determined to destroy the U.S. Constitution and rob us of our freedom.
