Being a politically aware liberal, you know that every year legislators give Billions of dollars in grants to nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).

There are over 1.5 million of these nonprofit organizations in the U.S. The NGOs, in turn, give a percentage of those dollars to lobbyists and their political action committees; to ensure the grants are renewed year-after-year. The political action committees, in turn, contribute money and support to the political campaigns of the legislators that sponsored the grants.
As I see it, our tax dollars are needed to cover the cost of good government and I’m okay with that. I am not okay with paying additional tax dollars, so a select group of legislators, can give away our tax dollars to hundreds of NGOs that have millions of dollars in assets. For example: Harvard University, receives tens of millions of our tax dollars every year and it has $63.4 billion in untaxed assets. Howard university has been awarded 96.9 million this year and they have $1.6 billion in assets. I don’t know about you, but I want to choose which NGOs receive my charitable contributions. I don’t want my legislators (acting in their best self-interest) giving my hard-earned tax dollars to NGOs without my approval
