Let’s review the stats on 56 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in 2018.

| killed by Whites | 32 | 57% |
| killed by Blacks | 23 | 41% |
10 (17.9%) of the killers were Latino
20 (35.7%) of the killers were on bail, parole, or probation; 1 an escaped convict
If we assume, no offender killed more than 1 officer, we can calculate the following:
327.2 million Whites / 32 White killers = 1 White in every 10.2 million, is a cop killer
41.7 million Blacks / 23 Black killers = 1 Black in every
2.0 million, is a cop killer
Whites kill more officers than Blacks. However, an officer is 5 times more like to be killed by a Black person than he is a White person.
The above statistics are before the Covid lock downs and the BLM riots. In 2020, 312 officers were shot, 47 were killed. Those numbers increased in 2021 to 346 officers shot, 63 killed.
