The only conclusion I can draw from the crime statistics I quoted earlier is, crime rates are proportionally higher among Blacks than Whites, and there is far more Black-on-Black and White-on-White crime than there is Black-on-White and White-on-Black crime. If we want to reduce racism in this country, we will have to look elsewhere for root causes.
Let’s begin by agreeing racism is a belief, a thought, or a feeling. We can define racist acts and we can prosecute people for committing racist acts; but, as a liberated society, with the right to free speech, we are prohibited from prosecuting people for what they believe, think, or feel.
We live in family units, among people with similar backgrounds. We tend to associate with people who look alike and think alike. We form organizations to promote our uniqueness.
The tax-exempt provisions of the US tax code, encourage the formation of organizations for the advancement of one’s own race and culture. Consequently, there are thousands of nonprofit organizations in this country, founded to promote the welfare one race at the exclusion of all others. Many of these NPO’s not only receive donations from citizens but also grants from Federal, State and Local governments. The Irony here is, while politicians call for an end to racism in the United States, they are using the US tax code and your tax dollars to promote racist organizations.
Why did the Reverend Al Sharpton form his National Action Network as a nonprofit organization? It provided him with way to raise tax-free money for his favorite causes and to use sums of that money to pay his own salary and expenses. Sharpton is but one of the thousands who have used and abused NPO’s to earn an income and keep “racism in the headlines”.
It’s obvious, the people who talk the most about racism in the United States have a personal, professional, or political stake in keeping racism alive.
Please, if you want to limit racism in this country, only donate to and work with organizations that have a multi-racial board of directors.
