The Founding Fathers and their countrymen fought for liberty. The brightest among them, drafted a constitution enumerating the rights and rules of liberty. Since then, millions more of our countrymen have fought and died to preserve those rights.
Liberty has been slowly eroding over the last two centuries. The erosion has increased dramatically over the last century. Civic minded citizen representatives have been replaced by professional politicians seeking media accolades, fame, wealth, and power. They have colluded to limit the people’s choice for representation to two political parties and written rules to discourage the formation of new political parties.
However, the greatest threat to our liberty is voter apathy; tens of millions of eligible voters don’t vote. History has shown us, professional politicians cannot be trusted to do what is right and the Department of Justice cannot be trusted to prosecute all the wrong doers.
Politicians know, once in office, they are kept in office by less than 20% of eligible voters. We are entrusting the fate of our nation and our own well being into the hands of the few people who always vote. Please don’t trade self-rule, for rule by a small group of professional politicians and their fans.
