The Articles of Confederation are too weak to make the states work together
Under the current system: the national government can make rules, but states do not have to follow them. There is no strong leader to enforce laws. States often ignore agreements with each other, and the country has no real power to solve big problems. This makes the nation weak and disorganized.
One of the biggest problems is laws are not being followed. When the national government makes decisions: States can refuse to obey them, there is no strong system to make them comply, and everything depends on cooperation instead of enforcement. This makes the government unreliable.
When laws are not followed: Chaos can grow, people stop trusting the government, problems between states get worse, and the country becomes weak and divided. This could eventually lead to collapse or conflict.
Some people believe the states can simply cooperate on their own. I disagree. A system based only on trust is not enough. People and governments often act in their own interests. Cooperation works sometimes, but not always. Without strong rules, agreements can break down.
What the Country Really Needs is a stronger national government, laws that apply to everyone, a way to enforce rules fairly and a system that does not depend only on cooperation. This would make the country more stable and reliable.
Governments need structure to work. Without it, rules are ignored, problems develop and the system falls apart. With structure laws are followed, order is maintained, and the country stays united and strong.
