No government is perfect, but the Constitution is the best plan the delegates could create.
The people who wrote the Constitution had to solve many hard problems. They had to balance large states and small states, national power and state power, freedom and security and different opinions from many people. There were no easy answers.
The finished Constitution is the result of many compromises. Without compromise, the delegates might never have agreed on anything.
People are not perfect. Leaders are not perfect. No plan can solve every problem. Instead of asking whether the Constitution is perfect, people should ask whether it is better than the system we already have. I believe it is.
Good government depends on listening carefully, respecting different opinions, solving problems together, and looking for the common good. These ideas helped create the Constitution.
